National Mall Street Parking
Street parking throughout Washington, DC is very limited, especially close to the National Mall. There are a number of public parking spots available on the National Mall along Madison and Jefferson Drives. These spots are quick to fill up and have two-hour limits.
The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) strictly enforces the parking limits. Most parking spots are monitored from7 AM through 6:3o PM. DC parking is split into two ‘zones,’ Premium Demand and Normal Demand. Premium demand zones charge $2.00 an hour and Normal demand zones charge $0.75 an hour. Parking meters in DC only accept coins, no cash or credit cards!
The National Mall falls under a Premium demand zone. In addition, National Mall has extended parking hours enforced until 10 PM. Parking longer than 2 hours will likely result in towing of your vehicle or fines up to $100.
